Jessica Pena-Cabana, PhD, PsyD, MEd, CSC, LPC-S. She has over 20 plus years working with children, adolescents, couples, families and adults with special needs and emotional issues. She is fully licensed Bilingual (Spanish) therapist. She accepts Medicaid, BCBS, Tricare, and most other insurances. She will also accepts private pay and work on a sliding scale if needed. She is trained, as well as, experienced in CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, EMDR, Solution focused, Play therapy, Grief & Loss,  Equine Assisted Psycho Therapy, AAT, HEAL, CBEIP, and Equimotion. Dr. Pena-Cabana is trained as a National Certified Forensic Counselor (NAFC) and Licensed Professional Counselor. She is a member & certified AASECT, CBT, DBT, EMDR, TF-CBT, Play Therapy, Grief/Loss, AAT, EMHP, and ABA. She has a background in law, Phd, and PsyD in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Forensics Clinical  Psychology. Dr. Pena-Cabana enjoys working with diverse populations. She is an avid rider, who  grew up on her family's 240 acre horse ranch in Texas where they raised and trained race horses and hunter/ jumpers. She has over 20 years of experience riding and tending to her horses and variety of animals.  Most of her formal training was in  the area of English Hunter / Jumper / Eventing with some Pleasure.  Dr. Jessica Pena Cabana began riding horses at the age of three and competing in State A rated show circuits throughout Texas and Southwest by the age of seven. She excelled and trained with some of the best trainers before focusing on her higher education. However, she was fortunate enough to be able to continue riding and enjoying her horses while she completed her undergrad, as well as, graduate studies. Dr. Pena- Cabana has traveled extensively and helped with different organizations, including but not limited to universities, NGOs , hospitals, clinics, schools, and non profits before settling and making South Carolina her home. She has worked hard to build her private practice and extend her love for horses and animals with her family and clients.
